Finally the formula is in India

It was eluding us for quite sometime or at least should I say I felt it to be eluding as I was one of those who eagerly awaited this formula to come into our grasp. This has been my dream for so many years, specially from the time when I saw the person, who had been driving the red Ferrari, won F1 for seventh time in his career. May be that was the last time Schumi ever won F1 again but who cares.

Ever since, we have been witnessing several young champions taking the podium. The likes of Fernando Alanso, Kimi Raikonnen, Jenson Button, Massa and the reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel, who is now way ahead of the rest, have really made this arguably the most expensive sport in the world, worth watching. Times have changed since and nowadays we are not able to find Schummi in his famous Ferrari which we are used to see him drive for quite long. But again I would say who cares?

The wait is over now. We are going to see numerous cars speeding away, right infront of our vision, so fast that the drivers will strive hard to reach their destination of over 300 Kms in just 90 minutes time. Sounds pretty dangerous though when you hear such things like the speed in which they drive but it is really a beautiful sight  nonetheless. So, things such as Schummi driving or not driving Ferrari are not going to be a big difference. I am repeatedly stressing on Schummi because to me he is the greatest champion ever on F1 whose laurels we are not going to see or hear in India any more, with his past glory having got already obliterated by time , as the first Indian F1 GP  is about to get underway come Sunday 15.00 hours IST.

Looking beyond Michael Schumacher, the most important thing for which people, I mean the most interested ones, would spend lavishly is the race itself, debuting for the first time in India. The cars lining on the pit lanes and the mechanics working on them in the least number of seconds possible, which we had been seeing it happening in many of the racing circuits all over the world on TV mostly, will now be watched by a reasonable size of Indian population live only to get overwhelmed by the sight of such amazing things.
These drivers, really, have no fear for their lives. Already in the past couple of weeks, we have seen atleast two past champions in motor racings, succumbing to their injuries and I hope such things do not occur here in F1 and that too in India. Inspite of such happenings somewhere in the world, the fearless attitudes of these drivers just seems to amaze me as I await the fiesta, much like the millions of F1 aficionados in India, having my fingers crossed. I am starting to experience goose bumps already.
The name “F1”, getting associated with India, is something I have never ever imagined. Now that it is in India, I want it to be a permanent fixture in F1 calendar, given the sort of viewing this sport has in Indian television. I am sure this is going to be a success big time here in India where the people of this cricket crazy nation have not seen any other big name equivalent to Sachin Tendulkar. Now, we will see someone called Schummi, who, though past his prime, without a doubt, is really an icon worth watching.

So, here I am getting ready to see the race as the F1 cars will have their wheels stamped on the Indian road for the first time ever. I am sure all Indians would be proud that this sophisticated game would be hosted by us at last. In less than 48 hours time, we will see which of the three drivers are going to stand on the podium and I can’t wait to see it.

And finally I feel atleast local news readers here in India, will now properly learn to pronounce the name of the great champion. Some of them have been pronouncing his name as Shoe-maker instead of Schumacher. If no one is going to be exhilarated on seeing this game in India, atleast, I feel Schumi would be happier because his name would be pronounced properly henceforth, as he becomes familiar here in India.

  1. All this attention for F1 is so stupid. It is just a death sport encouraging youth to indulge in speeding and causing loss of lives all over.

  2. While F1 is the one of largest spectator sport in the world. This is not only a expensive sport but a sport that needs precision and accuracy..failing in which it may cost millions and sometimes life too. In India F1 comes under "Entertainment" catogory and funny thing is Cricker comes under Sports ...It is because of our honest friends who are part of the federation or board of any sports always want be a part of something that generates revenue and promotes SCAM. I am sure that one will forget Sachin if BCCI finds this better.

One will never know our politicians are still do to their R&D and projections.
