Republic day

We are celebrating our 62nd Republic day today and yet it is a sorry state of affairs that a few of us have not learnt our responsibility. All I am talking here is how some of us fail to utilize the power which is given to us.
Have we ever thought as to why all those people who govern our state or the entire nation are named as ministers and not kings? If we go back to any world history, the people were ruled by the kings and the ministers were there appointed only to assist the kings. So, it was a king who had a final say in all the things as far as administration was concerned.  By this we can understand that governance was done by ministers, duly monitored by respective kings.
Now going back to my question as to why we call those people who govern the state or nation as ministers I can say that we, by the power of right given to us to choose a person, are acting as kings and those guys who get seats by virtue of our votes are actually our servants who should report to us. Therefore, just as a king who appoints his ministers, we are appointing our modern day ministers and so all of us, barring the ministers so elected, are kings.
In ancient days, only one king per empire would be there but here all of us are uncrowned kings. Then why don’t we realize this concept? Why do we waste our position as a master who has the power to appoint or dismiss his servants? We have got the power to appoint or dismiss a minister after reviewing his/her performance every five years. This is our right guys. So, please develop a sense of pride which should be lying in each and every one of us in enjoying the privilege of being in an authoritative position.
Only because of this ignorance on the part of us, we treat these people as some demigods and so as the time goes by they begin to feel as though they are indispensable. As a result, they care for no one and they loot money at will. This is what happens when we give them this convenience. Not only these guys are elected by us but also they are getting their salaries out of public money. In short, it is we who pay them the salaries.
Thus, being their masters in all counts, we should exercise our right of casting vote without any excuse. We should thoroughly go through their past and give rewards or take punitive measures accordingly i.e. we should either re elect them or reject them.  So on this republic day, I request you all to vote in the coming assembly elections without fail.
It is a minister who should bow his head to a king and a king should never bow his head to a minister.

  1. To clean the system is difficult without getting dirty or hurt or both. Are we prepared? I doubt it.
